Ingredients:

For Soya Chaap:

  • 200 grams soya chaap (available in pre-made form)
  • 2 tablespoons oil
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 tomatoes, pureed
  • 1 tablespoon ginger-garlic paste
  • 1/2 cup yogurt (curd)
  • 1 teaspoon red chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon coriander powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon garam masala
  • Salt to taste
  • Fresh coriander leaves for garnish

Instructions:

  1. Prepare Soya Chaap:

    • If using raw soya chaap, boil it in water for 5-7 minutes until it becomes soft. Drain and set aside.
    • Heat oil in a pan and sauté the boiled soya chaap until lightly golden brown. Remove from the pan and set aside.
  2. Make Gravy:

    • In the same pan, add more oil if needed. Add chopped onions and sauté until golden brown.
    • Add ginger-garlic paste and cook until the raw aroma disappears.
    • Add tomato puree and cook until the oil separates from the masala.
    • Whisk yogurt in a bowl and add it to the masala. Cook until the yogurt blends well and the mixture thickens.
    • Add red chili powder, turmeric powder, coriander powder, cumin powder, garam masala, and salt. Mix well.
  3. Cook Soya Chaap in Gravy:

    • Add the sautéed soya chaap to the gravy. Coat the chaap pieces with the masala.
    • Add water as needed to adjust the consistency of the gravy. Simmer for 5-7 minutes to allow the flavors to meld together.
  4. Garnish and Serve:

    • Garnish Soya Chaap with fresh coriander leaves.
    • Serve hot with roti, naan, or rice.
